I was really disappointed by this book. I was intrigued by the premise, a day in the life of a guy who has everything, but somehow I didn't feel like Ian McEwan was able to really dig down deep. Maybe he felt he was too similar to the guy and didn't want to point out some of the very negative things about life like this. In Mrs. Dalloway at least we get very palpable feelings of regret. Also the end is unforgivably corny.
