Feels like a grown up (but actually less disturbing) Alice in Wonderland. Gaiman's strengths as a purveyor of the odd and mystical come through. Characterizations are excellent, especially amongst odd and otherworldy characters, which sometimes fell flat in American Gods. Gaiman plays with the monomyth humorously (if not as much so as Douglas Adams). Television series was alright, but missed the mark. Would be great to see a version with Martin Freeman and equally strong casting for the horrific yet amusing villains. My Fantasy Book Suggestions
