As they are sort of one long weave, it becomes increasingly harder to "score" book in the Dresden Files. Judging it as a strand in the weave, Small favor is a decent book. I like how it contributes to the ongoing uberplot and there are some fun surprises. I appreciate Jim Butcher's devotion to his side and secondary characters and his ability to write out strong action sequences (although everyone talks way too much while they're trying to kill each other- definitely a genre convention). One thing that didn't quite work for me was the ending in which (once again) the master villains do stupid things, but I have to admit that I can get really, really finicky about the way thrillers end. All in all a fun trip and I definitely will be reading this series through book 14 at this point.
