I really liked this book. Rowan and Gull were really likable characters. Gull was cocky, but also sort of dorky smart, that made him really cute. Ro was your typical strong independent woman, but with a slight hitch as she was abandoned as a child by her mother. I really liked that this book didn't just follow the normal lead characters. We also got to meet Lucas, Ro's dad, and see him develop a romance of his own. Obviously not as much in depth of these 2 characters, but it was a nice change of pace. Also, since I'm a "read the ending first" I knew who the killer was. I'm not sure I would have figured things out myself had I not done this. So that is a good thing for other readers. The change of scenery and all the technical details of what smoke jumping entails is really interesting, and changes things up for Nora readers.
